History and Background
This Basil is considered a sacred plant in India, called a "Gift from the Gods". They believe is is powerful in working with love, exorcism, wealth, flying, and hex breaking. In Indian mythology, this plant, when touched, forgives sins and purifies the body. It is often grown outside homes and worshiped daily.
Holy Basil is said to daunt Yama, the god of death, but has a close affinity with Lord Krishna who is reputed to have grown the herb. If offered to Lord Krishna, Holy Basil is said to have mystical powers of protection from death, disease, and misfortune.
In Chinese medicine, it helps with mental fatigue – inhale first, then apply to crown, forehead, heart, and navel chakras.
